PackSense Crate Format
PackSense Crate Format
According to the Laws of Pack, any behavior your dog initiates is a behavior that it dog will repeat until modified. It is therefore very important for you to minimize opportunities for your dog to initiate any behavior on you, other pack members, or anything your dog considers foreign to its pack when you can’t respond to it the moment it is triggered by doing the PackSense Collar Technique (PCT) on it. The crate format enables this and is absolutely necessary in the beginning of PackSense Behavior Modification Training. It is recommended for your dog’s behavioral health that when you are not at home or actively able to apply the PCT to your dog that it is in a crate.
The CRATE FORMAT allows you to easily apply the PCT to your dog every waking moment and when it makes the most impression on your dog that you are the higher ranking member of the pack and that your dog is the lowest ranking member every waking moment. You will be applying the PCT to your dog initially and most frequently inside of your home beginning when you open the door of the crate to let the dog out. For CRATE FORMAT purposes, each time you open the door of the crate to let your dog out is called a “waking moment”.
You should NEVER leave the crate door open for your dog to go in and out of it on its own. You should be closing the crate door each time you put the dog in or have it come out of the crate (close it behind him). This detail is actually significant and will keep the CRATE a strategic tool for you to use during training time or reinforcing your pack position with your dog.
